About GUM SYRUP GUM SYRUP is a new retail concept opening its first location in the Melrose area of Los Angeles in late November 2026. The name “GUM SYRUP” comes from a Japanese-English term commonly used in everyday life in Japan. In the U.S., it refers to what is commonly known as “simple syrup.” The name reflects the concept behind the store — bringing an authentic sense of Japanese culture and everyday life to Los Angeles, while drawing inspiration from and showing respect for American culture. GUM SYRUP will feature apparel, original merchandise, snacks, drinks, and other items, including HOLY CLAP as one of its featured series. The store aims to create a space where Japanese and American culture, creativity, and everyday experiences come together in an unexpected way.
